IQRA College

Middle - Senior School

Cassandra Domingo brings to the college a wealth of experience as an English and History teacher. Originally from Melbourne, but spending her childhood on the Gold Coast and in the South Australian Riverland, Cassandra completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English at Flinders University before earning a Graduate Diploma of Education at the University of Adelaide. A lifelong learner, she has almost completed a Masters degree in geopolitics from Charles Sturt University.

With close to 20 years' experience in South Australian classrooms, Cassandra specializes in middle and senior teaching. She is passionate about sharing and discovering language and literature, and enjoys nurturing her students into creative and critical young scholars through the use of text, film, and other forms of media.

Away from school, Cassandra enjoys travelling to experience new cultures, exploring her Italian heritage through food, enjoying art and cinema, and spending time with her husband (who has unusually large feet).

This is Dawood Perrotta and I have been teaching at IQRA College for the past 5 years. I’ve held a few roles at the school so far, ranging from primary teaching, sports co-ordination, and secondary teaching.

My interests include sport, community work, spending time with family, reading, cooking and more. Teaching has always been a passion, its more than a job, it’s an opportunity to positively impact the next generation, touch hearts and change lives.

This is Soha Keshta, first year in Iqra College and I’m proud to be a part of the team. I’m currently the secondary Art, EAL/D, history, and legal studies teacher. I graduated from law school at Cairo university, in Egypt, and moved to Australia in 2012.

After couple of years as a lawyer, I realized that my true passion was to teach. I worked as a specialist teacher for 4 years in different Islamic schools before finishing my bachelor’s degree in education recently from Charles Darwin University.

I believe every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging atmosphere to grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. As an educator, I want to help students meet their fullest potential in all areas by providing a safe, risk-taking, and collaborative environment. I believe a positive secondary education is essential to creating successful life-long learners as directed by our best educator Muhammed S.A.W.

Sakeena Shafqat Ali was born in Singapore and moved to Australia in 2017. Due to her great interest and zeal to support children in their learning and becoming the best versions of their self, she decided to pursue teaching and has been a Mathematics and Science teacher at IQRA College since 2021.

She enjoys teaching and learning together with her students especially in project work through research and inquiry where she sees optimal learning engagement from the students.

A genuinely committed teacher, she also currently coordinates Mathematics and Science programs in IQRA College.
